Overview / Responsibilities Wood are currently bidding for a large-scale oil and gas project. Should we be awarded this work, we will have a requirement for a PMC Materials/Corrosion Technical Authority to join us. This position will be based in Dubai, however, will include some trips to Iraq and Italy.
- To carry out materials/corrosion engineering work within a project team, supporting the project team for field development of oil & gas production facilities.
- To plan, organize and control the materials/corrosion engineering deliverables for the project.
- To manage and respond to client requirements.
- To prepare materials/corrosion engineering deliverables for a project in the oil and gas industry and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client's policies and procedures.
- To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
- To provide direction and guidance on materials/corrosion engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties.
- To promote safe behaviour at all times.
- Interfacing with key disciplines to ensure corrosion threats are identified and managed for all equipment.
- Developing and defining corrosion management plan and corrosion design basis memorandum for all equipment
- Involve and participate in risk analysis assessment of HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, RBI, etc.
- Focal point for corrosion monitoring provider (coupons, probes), providing management interface and compiling and interpreting results.
- Troubleshooting / technical assessment for corrosion / erosion or other similar damage modes on an ad-hoc basis.
- Input into Asset Integrity Management System programs requiring corrosion management.
- Prepare/review materials and corrosion deliverables, including; material selection philosophy, material selection report, material selection diagrams (MSDs), corrosion monitoring philosophy, specifications for painting and coating, internal lining, cladding, fire proofing, thermal insulation, sour service, welding and NDT and cathodic protection.
Skills / Qualifications - Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in the oil and gas production facilities.
- Operational support, construction and commissioning experience.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
