About the opportunity:

Working at our new Facility within our Field Services business you will be part of a large construction focused Project engineering team. The role involves supporting our tendering department from conception through to delivery and final handover to the stakeholder. The individual will be engaged in multiple diverse projects or maintenance alliance contracts throughout the people, places, and solutions LOB. These contracts will and can vary in size from tens of thousands up to multimillion-pound projects.
Jacobs Field Services are offering a truly fantastic opportunity which will allow the successful individual to be involved across multiple client sectors from inception through to final delivery.
We are seeking an aspiring or developing Mechanically biased Project Manager to engage with all life cycle phases of a project or maintenance portfolio of works within the utilities, pharmaceutical, advanced facilities or building environment sectors.

Based primarily at our new Barton upon Humber office with regular attendances on local Humber and Yorkshire based client sites as well as on numerous sites and Jacobs offices around the UK. You will work in the role of Project Manager engaging directly with multiple clients, overlooking budgets and programmes being accountable for delivering contracts and supporting our tendering, engineering and design departments to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget whilst adding value through innovation and best practices..

Reporting directly to one of the Operation Managers within the Humber performance unit and having interface with our Senior Directors you will also, depending on experience be responsible for managing our construction teams, engineers, and designers.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Work in a safe and sustainable manner, adhering to the highest professional standards whilst ensuring accountability for safety, and making sure our staff 'always do the right thing' and maintain robust HSE behaviours and cultures.
• Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
• Lead the production of proposals and tenders in accordance with client and Jacobs commercial requirements and governance.
• In conjunction with Technical leads and Designers produce and maintain project baselines (scope, cost and schedules).
• Provide robust financial and project reporting.
• Develop, maintain and manage project risk registers.
• Identification and management of change control.
• Proactively interact and collaborate with members of the project team.
• Engage with appropriate tools and departments to positively manage resources required to enable delivery.
• Work with supporting staff and functions to ensure the timely preparation of invoices and supporting documentation.
• Lead the focus on customer care, liaising with customer representatives and a commitment to delivering on promises and project reporting.
• Ensure appropriate Jacobs governance is applied to the project from tender through to execution and close out.
• Depending upon individual experience, provide Line Management for Project Engineers and Administrative staff, including performance review, identifying training needs and supporting professional and career development.

Qualifications:

Requirements:
• Degree qualified candidate in a Mechanical or Process engineering discipline.
• Project Management qualification desirable, not essential.
• Project or Operational Management experience in an engineering, technical or business project or programme environment.
• Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of relevant Health and Safety and Environment legislation including CDM and the actions required to achieve compliance here.
• Robust Knowledge of Project Management processes and techniques.
• Operating knowledge of standard Microsoft IT packages.
• Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in project teams.
• UK Citizenship.
