The Advisor, Cross-docking & Distribution focuses on the enablement of efficient final forward distribution from our receiving points through to the supply chain.
This role ensures value delivery to internal customers by providing a service orientated interface and materials management strategies that support bp to deliver an effective and efficient supply chain.
This role will support the transition from a warehousing and long-term storage focus to an efficient flow of physical materials through cross-dock, staging, and distribution style operations.

Accountabilities:

  • Support development and implementation of conformance to standards for area of responsibility
  • Support transition from long term warehousing operations to cross-docking operations globally
  • Deploy cross-docking standards, tools and processes that enable efficient cross-docking and onshore/offshore delivery of materials
  • Use lean principles to implement continuous improvement by focusing on clear customer value and utilising value stream mapping
  • Ensure work is optimised through cross-functional, agile teams that deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Provide expert advice to internal/external partners and ensure all activity and relevant reporting are aligned with the business strategy


Essential:

  • Ability to deploy multi-regional, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Skilful application of deep experience in materials management and supplier performance
  • Deep knowledge of Backbone / SAP functionality
  • Warehousing Level 3
  • Logistics Level 2
  • Demonstrates capability to apply discernment and clearly link value to business results at business and segment level
  • Proven track record of adding value and taking things to the next level
  • Empowers, trusts and develops team to work under agile principles
  • Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and be flexible to change
  • Active and empathetic listener who seeks and uses feedback
