Purpose of Role
Individual contributor role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment responsible for leading and developing sourcing activities for assigned projects and turnarounds.

Position Overview
• Reports to Contracts & Procurement (CP) base plant site lead
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing and contracting processes, procedures, practices & techniques
• Works with internal stakeholders, external third parties, CP team, and continuously seeks to improve value delivery through the CP framework
• Ensures that CP is perceived as a positive and value adding integral partner to Client's Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex

• Actively engage with key stakeholders from different Business Units to gather business requirements and specifications and incorporate into sourcing strategies, supplier selections and decisions
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the assigned categories (materials and services) designed to support the identified business needs in line with approved category strategies
• Perform purchasing activities in compliance with procurement standards, controls, and ethical business practices
• Select, drive, and develop suppliers in line with organizational business requirements and track supplier performance on a continuous basis
• Qualify or pre-qualify contractors to assurance capabilities in areas such as safety and health, financial well-being, labor and equipment rates, and employment/resource levels
• Develop approved contractors lists and work with end users in scope development as appropriate
• Develop and maintain on-going relationships with all relevant stakeholders to influence, shape and support key business requirements
• Continuously seek out and identify ways of taking out cost (based on TCO approach) to meet individual and team targets as well as working with stakeholders to lower and optimize spending
• Analyze RF(x) packages and develop awareness of associated risks with key stakeholders
• Negotiate key commercial terms and conditions and liaise with Legal and Risk Management staffs as required to ensure contractual terms and conditions are acceptable and serve to minimize risk
• Track and document scope of work changes, communicate with contractors as focal point for ongoing issue resolution, including warranty issues

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field
• 3 or more years of experience in procurement, supply chain, commercial negotiations, contract development, contract management or related field
• Strong work ethic and strategic thinking skills
• Organizational skills to manage concurrent initiatives and projects
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external business partners
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
