Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer for the Turbomachinery & Process Solutions (TPS) Product Company, the Research and Technology Leader will work across key initiatives to develop, implement and facilitate strategical technological and organizational transformations to accelerate innovation of our products & services and processes in line with the latest technology/market trends and discoveries.

In particular he/she will be responsible to build and maintain an integrated TPS future 'technology roadmap', identifying thematic technology investments in alignment with the business priorities from the GSP process. He/she will also act as the TPS point of connection with the larger Technology community at enterprise level, supporting the BH Technology Leadership Council, on thematic technology investments, innovation process alignment, internal capabilities sharing and Universities/industry collaborations

In order to accomplish this mission he/she will have the following accountabilities:

Technology Strategy - collaborate with business functions, product leaders and Engineering staff to identify gaps, establish priorities and to develop a long-term integrated technology roadmap; also partner with commercial team to organize technology sessions with key customers to identify emerging new trends and possible long term tech collaborations;

Horizon Scanning - provide horizon scanning capability to scout for new technologies and solutions

Innovation Strategy - implement an Innovation strategy across the organization from problem definition, ideation, selection and incubation through to implementation

Research Network Strategy - build and maintain, an integrated strategy around our key university and collaborative relationships

External funding - identify and win funding sources, as well as managing externally funded programmes in coordination with other Engineering leaders

Intellectual Property - build the IP and technology license strategy, and manage the IP and license portfolio to guarantee freedom to operate and maximize return for the business; manage the Papers & Conferences process

In addition, he/she will:

• Be a transformational change agent for the Innovation organization and the business as a whole, driving a consistent and cross product line approach

• Developing and sustain a strong, candid relationship with business and other functions within TPS and at BH level

• Leverage personal experience and problem-solving skills to identify and build efficient and creative solutions to support the delivery of new business outcomes

• Provide coaching and development to a team of direct reports and broad team of indirect reports to continue to develop critical skills in the organization and lead by example with focused execution and delivering on the highest priorities for Innovation structure and TPS

REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Significant years of experience in Turbomachinery engineering & technology, Knowledge of emerging technologies as a plus
  • Strong leadership capability.
  • Open to innovative ideas and passionate to new technologies
    • Solid level presentation skills, Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates leadership in
  • communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment.
    • Strong analytical, process improvement and project management skills.
