Wood is currently recruiting for Intern/Co-Op Transportation Engineering Technologist for Summer 2021 within our Environment & Infrastructure Solutions group based in our Burlington, Ontario office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, other discipline designers and designers / drafters within the transportation team through all stages of design and construction;
  • Use Autodesk Civil 3D & Bentley InRoads / MicroStation to produce design deliverables;
  • Assist in production of design CADD & BIM models for a variety of road, light rail and rail projects;
  • Conduct quality control to ensure standards and project requirements are met;
  • Conduct occasional site work and visits, as required;
  • Attend meetings with senior engineering staff;
  • Input into reports, technical memos, and presentations.

Skills / Qualifications

  • You possess an appetite to learn and a willingness to jump in for on-the-job training;
  • Applicants must be eligible for the co-op program;
  • Enrolled on the Civil Engineering Technology / Civil Engineering Technician program;
  • Familiar with the use of design standards and guides and road design software would be beneficial;
  • Previous work experience in a similar field is beneficial;
  • A valid driver's license is desirable.
