Engineering EIT that will assist with the development of plans for electrical power and distribution systems, transportation improvements, roadway lighting design, power service, grounding, communications systems, traffic signal design, field data collection, and report writing. Anticipated start date is May 2020.

Typical work tasks include:
  • Development of electrical drawings, roadway lighting plans, and traffic signals plans using MicroStation software.
  • Assist with the development preparation of cost estimate spreadsheets.
  • Assist with the development of electrical power and distribution design concept reports with architects, engineers and owners
  • Design of lighting, power, grounding, and communication systems, in building.
  • Design lighting using AGI32 Software.
  • Travel to construction sites to conduct Electrical inspections and prepare reports • Perform other professional services to support project demands of the office.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering required, Major: Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience required (Co-operative engineering or engineering internship experience would fulfill this requirement)
  • Experience with CADD and modeling
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code
  • Electrical design experience in buildings and facilities engineering
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working towards EIT or already attained EIT
  • Internship experience with the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical systems
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
  • Willingness to train in OSHA, CPR, First Aid and other Jacobs safety training classes

Other Essential Functions:
  • Candidate must be interested in working towards PE license. Some work related travel will be required. Candidate must be interested in helping to develop Intelligent Transportation SystITS solutions, complete street networks, and project reports. Candidate should be eager to learn, willing to take on new tasks, interact with clients, and grow professionally with Jacobs.
