Overview / Responsibilities
This is an opportunity to join a busy and thriving masterplanning and architectural design team within a multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy.
The Design Technician will provide support to the design team in the production of drawings and design documentation. You will be part of a team which includes architects, urban designers and landscape architects working on a wide range of development planning and design projects within the Places and Transport group in Wood Built Environment.
Our projects range widely from bespoke buildings through to large-scale masterplanning of new settlements. The design team outputs are primarily produced in AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup. Photoshop, InDesign and Powerpoint are also employed for both design and presentation materials.
You will be responsible for supporting the design team in the production of drawings, graphics and documents for both project work and in support of business development. Work will need to be produced to deadlines and quality standards defined by the design task manager.
Training will be provided in the particular requirements of the different design disciplines. The role requires good time management and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
Skills / Qualifications
- Qualified to at least HND level (or equivalent) in a design-related discipline.
- You will need to be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit including BIM systems and protocols.
- You will also need a working knowledge of Photoshop, In-Design, Sketch-Up and MS Office 365 applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- You will be required to demonstrate an understanding of the design process, an aptitude for design and ability in drawing by hand.
