Reporting to the Head of Building Services:
  • The ability to understand and apply Jacobs Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The ability to lead a small team of junior Engineers and Designers on specific projects.
  • The ability to present designs and reports to clients and senior management.
  • To produce Engineering Deliverables to Programme and to Budget.
  • To manage man-hour estimates and change-control.
  • To produce and check engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, requisitions etc.
  • To produce Engineering Reports.
  • To execute and manage Commissioning work at client sites.
  • To be an integral part of a multi-discipline Project Team.
  • To be fully aware of the 3D environment.
  • To be prepared to travel as necessary within the UK to support other offices/sites.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Building Services Engineering or related discipline e.g. Mechanical or EICS Engineering (Master's beneficial).
  • Several years of relevant post-graduate engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and Mechanical Building Services including all Air and Water systems (including Plumbing /H&CWS/Internal Drainage)
  • Knowledge of fundamental design processes including a detailed understanding of the Psychrometric Process
  • An understanding of the associated legal and legislative requirements

Other Essential Functions
  • Use of specialist Building Services and HVAC software, e.g. Revit, HEVACOMP.
  • Engagement with Legislative and Professional Bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive and Office for Nuclear Regulation.
  • Available to travel short term in UK.

  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Containment.
  • Experience of HVAC in the Nuclear or Explosives industries.
  • Knowledge of design of facilities handling explosive materials
  • Knowledge of P601-P602 Examination & Testing of LEV systems
  • Experience of large, multi-discipline projects.
  • Experience and the supervision of the other Engineers
