Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking to fill an Operations Readiness/Support role for an Oil and Gas project in Mexico. This is a Senior Advisor/Lead position and based on an even time rotational roster schedule to Mexico (from Houston Tx), including Onshore Construction Site, Onshore Support and Logistics Base, and Offshore on the Production Platforms for the dynamic commissioning, handover and initial startup phases.

The main responsibilities include:
  • Assist with pre-commissioning / commissioning in the onshore construction yard
  • O&M Contractor supervision and coordination
  • Drive delivery of Operations systems - Prod Accounting / PTW / SOPs / Safe Work Practices / CMMS / Training and competency development / Policies and procedures
  • Lead the initial facility startup in coordination with commissioning team and 3rd parties
  • Coordinate production and maintenance priorities with the O&M contractor
  • Authorize Control of Work/PTW system
  • Authorize SIMOPs activities - Marine and Drilling
  • Act as Company representative for acceptance of handover from Project to Operations for both Greenfield and Brownfield facilities - Offshore location
  • Oversee operations in the Central Control Room (Onshore location)
  • Approve / distribute production reports
  • Approve Work orders etc in SAP
  • Coordinate direct contracts - chemical supplier / marine vessels / specialist support etc

Skills / Qualifications

  • Extensive Offshore Oil and Gas Operations experience at a Senior Supervisor/Superintendent/PIC level is mandatory
  • Previous Operations Readiness experience in a Greenfield or Brownfield Project development
  • Broad experience in both operations and maintenance systems and procedures development, and implementation of training and competency development processes
  • Experience in implementation and use of Control of Work/Permit to Work systems and processes
  • Previous experience working in high H2S Oil and Gas Fields will be highly regarded
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Spanish language skills will be highly regarded
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required
