Position Specific Description
PGD Maintenance Specialistshall beresponsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the large scale universal solar & battery storage facilities inside the state of Florida.This position will report tothe Solar & StorageNorth Engineering Leader, under the Power Generation Team, and will work out of the Lake City area withtravel to other locations within the North Region which includes the cities/areas of Hawthorne& Green Cove Springswithin the state of Florida.This individualis responsible as the site safety manager to ensure all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. Maintenance Specialistson the FPL solar team can spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar facilities. At times, PGD Maintenance Specialistwill be on-call and responsible for the North Region Sites, coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEM's, Vendors and Contractors as required. Maintenance Specialist should be highly motivated with a strong bias for action and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering highly preferred.
Employees in this role direct a team of production and maintenance technicians and contractors in plant maintenance activities. Individuals in this position lead internal and external resources to Deliver Certainty, executing plant maintenance to achieve short and long term site goals and objectives in safety, environmental, compliance, reliability, availability and cost management.
