Role Outline/Responsibilities:

As Commercial Assistant/Assistant Quantity Surveyor, the responsibilities are to support the Commercial Manager/Contract Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor/Quantity Surveyor and Procurement Assistant in delivering the Contract Management Plan and maintaining the relationship with the Contractors/Subcontractors, Suppliers or Service Providers for the CNC OU Project. This would include assisting in the administration of the contract Risk Register, attending Risk Reduction Meetings, managing Early Warning Notice and Compensation Event processes. All contracts will be managed in accordance with JFS/CNSL's Management System and procedures for contract management. Being an integral part of the Commercial team ensuring compliance to procedures and Contract Terms and Conditions to ensure delivery with certainty.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor in the day to day management of a portfolio of subcontracts;
• Assisting in the preparation of tender/RFQ documents;
• Assisting if required in the analysis of tenders and preparing tender reports during all stages of procurement;
• Assisting the Quantity Surveyors with Contract Administration including management of the Technical Query, Delays, Early Warning and Compensation Events processes via CEMAR.
• Development and maintenance of other Contract Administration Trackers including plant hire /off hire trackers, EWN and risk registers, ensuring all outstanding actions are closed off in a timely manner;
• Assisting in the preparation of regular Internal and External management reports, progress reporting, estimates and cost plans in line with the brief;
• Measurement of works in accordance with the various standard methods of measurements;
• Assisting in measurement of Contractor's performance against Key Performance
Indicators and Incentivisation arrangements;
• Maintaining electronic templates, contract records and correspondence;
• Managing Contractor relationships as required to deliver the contract requirements;
• Assist the Quantity Surveyor in the assessment of Application for Payments, pricing of Compensation Events in a timely manner;
• Assist procurement in preparation of scope requirement documentation in support of quotations for plant, material and supplies;
• Attend regular walkdowns with Project Managers/Project Engineers to aid pricing of Compensation Events;
• Assisting in the preparation of, and agreement of final accounts;
• Attending design team and progress meetings as necessary;
• Assisting in production of lessons learnt report for post contract review;

• Ensure all procurement and governance processes are adhered to within the designated projects.
• Ensure correct levels of authority are applied to SMR's for the procurement of goods, services, consumables and sub-contracts.


Qualifications & Experience:

• 1-2 years' experience in the Construction, Cost and Project Management sector (preferably Nuclear)

• Working towards QS Degree
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to communicate confidently
• Hands on with a can-do attitude
• Excellent work ethic
