Our client, a large oil and gas company, is currently seeking a Land Analyst for a 12-18 month contract (Maternity Leave Coverage) beginning March 2021.
Reporting to the Manager Land, Closings, Canadian Operations, the Land Analyst will play an important role in supporting our Land, Joint Venture and Commercial Department for a one-year term. The incumbent will be responsible for mineral, contractual and JV land administration duties while working primarily with our commercial negotiator for our Oil Sands and Northeast British Columbia Asset Teams. The incumbent will also support other team members with various land administration tasks and projects including surface and third-party administration.
You will also be responsible for:
?? Input and maintenance of Crown and Freehold Mineral Leases in Quorum land system ensuring data integrity;
?? Co-ordinate, prepare, submit and track Crown and Freehold continuation applications, update Quorum land system as required and disseminate information to internal and external stakeholders;
?? Track all lease driven critical dates including offset notices, termination notices, default notices and non-productivity notices. Ensure all pertinent information is communicated to appropriate stakeholders;
?? Verify working interests and review, code and process non-operated mineral lease rental invoices;
?? Analyze, draft and administer land contracts;
?? Prepare, review and process operated and non-operated ION's, Abandonment Notices, Change of Operatorships, ROFR's, NOA's and other land related documentation
?? Review chain of title and remedy deficiencies as required;
?? Crown Surface Land Administration in British Columbia and Alberta;
?? Analyze Third Party Requests including issuing agreements;
?? Analyze and resolve internal and external queries;
?? Contribute towards the development of processes and procedure;
?? Provide support to team members as required;
?? Assist or execute special projects.
Who are we looking for? We are interested in hearing from candidates with the following:
?? Minimum ten (10) years of oil and gas land administration experience;
?? Graduate of a recognized Land program is preferred or an acceptable combination of education and experience;
?? Solid understanding of British Columbia and Alberta P&NG and regulations (particularly Oil Sands), freehold mineral leases and Land contract agreements;
?? Solid understanding of British Columbia and Alberta surface legislation;
?? Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Accumap and Quorum Land system;
?? Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
?? Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail;
?? Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment with a diverse group of individuals; and
?? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
