Overview / Responsibilities

The Maintenance Services Consultant is responsible for utilizing various planning tools to support the maintenance of the Company onshore and/or offshore assets in a safe, efficient, and economical manner.

  • Plans programs of maintenance work for onshore and/or offshore assets in the Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) discipline
  • Utilizes SAP to develop Work Orders for preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and turnarounds
  • Creates work packs, including all relevant information for work plans
  • Coordinates the development of work orders with gas plant, offshore platform and onshore maintenance personnel
  • Identifies manpower requirements for jobs
  • Prepares estimate of man-hours necessary to complete work.
  • Coordinates with appropriate departments on isolation requirements and follow on actions
  • Ensures proper QA/QC documentation for work orders is in place
  • Identifies material requirements, confirms material availability, places material orders, creates pick lists in SAP, and interfaces with vendor and/or supply chain as needed
  • Provides all necessary planning information to Schedulers in a timely manner
  • Requests changes to procedures as required
  • Recommends and implements training to enhance effectiveness of work activities
  • Mentors other members of staff in maintenance planning best practices
  • Supports Marathon's Responsible Operations Management System (ROMS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) processes by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Additional or other duties will be assigned from time to time by the line manager or supervisor as required to meet business needs including personal training and development assignment opportunities
  • The Job Description will be reviewed periodically to meet the needs of the Business

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Related degree, diploma or equivalent qualification

Job-Specific Skills:
  • A number of years' previous experience in a planning role in the offshore oil and gas industry

PC Application Skills:
  • IT literate with proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • A high level of SAP knowledge and experience

Personal Attributes:
  • Competent in communicating in English language
  • Working knowledge in Spanish language
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills
