Key Responsibilities include:

The SAP mechanical will carry out a guidance/advisory role to Mechanical Commissioning Engineers and Technicians on the BEPDT project.
The SAP Mechanical is responsible for:
Ensuring Safety is the highest priority on the project with a continued strive towards Zero Harm. Ensuring that they are a role model for all aspects of safety, ensuring a proactive approach to nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental safety
Mechanical guidance to the BEPJV commissioning team.
Appointing and auditing Process Plant and Equipment 'Nominated Persons (NP)', as well as ensuring BEPJV isolations are carried out in compliance with Clients process
Approving 'non preferred' isolations outside of NP authority
Using BEP plantwide systems and plant item knowledge as well as knowledge of the Company Safety Rules,safety rules Procedures, Company Safety Instructions, BEPDT safety procedures and any relevant Client Safety Rules to achieve a safe delivery of BEP.
Ensures the mechanical discipline is acting in compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Condition 21 and HSG 253 (The safe Isolation of plant and equipment)
Authority/Contact to commissioning on PSSR's/LOLER and how to be managed on Client sites ensuring statutory compliance.
BEPDT Client specific - familiar with client Process Plant and equipment isolations process/documentation SLP's, training requirements etc.
Liaison with Client and Competent person (PSSR's) with respect to Written Scheme of Examination compliance/handover.
Provides mechanical engineering subject matter expert (SME) input and support to the BEPJV commissioning team.
Carries out the Client nominated 'Mechanical Authorised person (AP)' role on BEP.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:
  • Time served in the mechanical discipline.
  • PSSR/LOLER Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Knowledge of MSSS/BEP process systems
  • Preference for HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or route to achieve the qualification
  • Aware of Machinery directive, CDM, CE marking, relevant machinery build and test specifications i.e BS466, BS7121
  • Management of safety/working safely IOSH
