Business Unit Description:

Working within Jacob's Nuclear Clean Up business unit you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging nuclear decommissioning projects for a wide range of clients, gaining experience in the design and development of innovative engineering solutions. Jacobs offers a wide range of support networks and opportunities to develop and progress your career in your chosen field.

Role Outline/Responsibilities:
• Lead functional input to own project and where relevant lead the input of other (possibly mutidisiplinary) engineers and subcontractors, to ensure engineering delivery meets, scope, time, cost and quality.
• Management of Stakeholders and Subcontractors
• Checking and approval of drawings and documents
• Manage design change (technical and commercial)
• Negotiate resource usage and plan for project delivery
• Generate and check engineering estimates and execution strategies
• Provide functional support and guidance to staff to develop both them as individuals and the capability of the team as a whole

Qualifications:

Essential:
• At least ten years' experience in project design work in specialist area (Nuclear Sector)
• Detail design knowledge of mechanical mechanisms or bespoke equipment for Nuclear use.
• Demonstrated record of maintaining own skills and knowledge at the forefront of the field
• Proven project management skills
• Team leadership experience
• Commercial awareness

Preferred:
• Professionally qualified (eg. Chartered) Engineer
• Experience in contracting environment, relevant site experience
• Existing security clearance for UK nuclear work
