Overview

Senior Engineering Manager (SEM's) is required to work at AWE Aldermaston and will be responsible for the technical management and the formal review of the design assessment reports in accordance with the relevant 100 Series Operating Procedures (Design and Design safety). A base clearance of SC is required. The enabling works are scheduled to start in September 2020 and finish in March 2021.

Senior Engineering Manager will have a working knowledge in the following areas.

1. HAZANs

2. Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs)

3. Design Assessment Reports (DARs)

4. Specific Safety Functional Requirements (SSFRs)

5. Knowledge of Nuclear safety cases, License Condition 15 and MSP 1515

6. Nuclear Design Assessment Report production experience

Responsibilities

1. Discuss and agree with Assurance the SSFRs/SSCs to be used for the DAR updates

2. Discuss and agree with Assurance and the Project Manager the actions to be taken to address these SSFRs.

3. Produce a scope of work for the DAR updates

4. Manage the Contractor selected to update the DARs

5. Manage the Design Review process

6. Issue approved DARs

7. Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager and Principal Engineering Manager

Qualifications:

HNC/Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
