Job Title	Mechanical Engineer
Location	Metairie, LA

The mechanical engineer will design shipboard electromechanical/mechanical equipment and systems.

Duties:

• Check electromechanical/ mechanical products and systems by conducting and designing programs. Apply principles of thermodynamics, mechanics, hydraulics, materials and heat transfer.
• Create electromechanical and mechanical products/systems through regulatory entity submittals, review the design, purchase materials, install and deliver.
• Create and implement cost-efficient modifications on the equipment to improve its reliability, safety and performance
• Ability to use mathematical modeling & CAD tools
• Support shipboard's installation, turnover and commission of distributed systems and mechanical equipment.

Qualifications:

• Must have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Must have 5+ years of experience
• US Citizenship required
• Able to obtain U.S. Security Clearance
• Must demonstrate experience in Switchboard design
• Must have knowledge in AutoCAD, Pro Engineer, Solidworks
• Must have experience with Navy Shipboard design
