Wood Consulting has a career opportunity for a Vice President, Power Sector Leader with a strong track record of business development and client service management.

Open to any major Wood US office location

Key Responsibilities :
  • Will play a key leadership role in substantially growing the business in the firm, particularly in the Environment and Infrastructure Solutions (E&IS) Business Line, in the Power market to include the renewable, transmission & distribution, conventional generation, natural gas pipelines, decarbonization (coal combustion residuals, decommissioning), hydroelectric, and nuclear market areas
  • Take a leadership role in integrating and expanding the business development efforts of the E&IS Power Business service lines with respect to impact assessment and project permitting (IAP), environmental and biological monitoring, civil & geotechnical services and environmental remediation on specific projects for the conventional and renewable power market. This includes growing markets in solar, wind (on and off-shore), hydrogen, waste-to-energy (renewable natural gas), and geothermal
  • Take a leadership role in assessing key markets and developing improved growth strategies and plans in the power market. Develop and implement improved branding strategies and plans for this practice area
  • Serve on client account teams as a senior member to complete active, focused and successful business development and generate significant sales growth with a selected group of key client accounts
  • Lead or assist in leading pursuits of major opportunities
  • Lead or assist in the preparation of major proposals for key clients

Business Development :
  • Drive growth through large power related CAPEX, OPEX, and Environmental Services projects, programs and opportunities
  • Leverage Wood relationships for E&IS with existing and new customers in the conventional generation, renewable, thermal, transmission and distribution, environmental, and decarbonization markets
  • Drive sales opportunities through entire spectrum of Wood E&IS services and champion cross-divisional sales approach
  • Partner with appropriate Sector Leaders and Business Managers to create and sell solutions to key clients

Strategic Thinking :
  • Identify trends and develop a long-term view of the industry, market and client base
  • Anticipate medium and long term client needs and industry dynamics
  • Understand how to align business to execute global strategy of Wood across the Power Sector, including understanding of Wood services and how to deliver multi-discipline solutions to Energy customers
  • Innovate and enhance E&IS's Power Sector, geographic footprint and integrated approach

Leadership :
  • Work closely with P&L managers who have direct responsibility for the Consulting resources to deliver profitable, safe and sustainable projects and services for our clients
  • Build, grow and develop Best in Class Account Managers and Teams
  • Support the development of technical Practice and Service Line solutions

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in the Power sector, with a background in consulting engineering
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Experience :
  • In-depth experience in the Power Sector with a proven track record as a key contributor to a global leadership team.
  • Currently manage Power related clients or support client management activities as an engaged Executive Sponsor
  • Solid technical and management background including progressively responsible leadership roles in project management, operation management and business development
