Job Title	Assistant Port Engineer
Location	Portland, OR

 

The Assistant Port Engineer role will support the fleet with the maintenance, practical readiness and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for vessel management costs and the marine personnel working aboard.

 

Duties:

• Guarantee the update of maintenance programs and supports the emergency casualty repairs or corrective actions of the vessels.
• Estimate the resources needed for the vessel's maintenance
• Prepare engineers with the necessary training on vessel repairs, systems, company policies and regulations
• Make sure visitors, vendors and employees stick to the company's procedures and operation policies
• Supports the training, hiring, disciplining, dispatching and/or termination of all vessel engineers

 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and minimum of 5 years of maritime/operations experience
• Proficiency in engineering of vessels and equipment
• Budget financial estimation knowledge and Federal, State and local maritime regulations
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Database, LAN)
• Experience in marine personnel management
