Our Consenting team specialises in major infrastructure in the UK and Europe, providing technical expertise in all areas of environmental assessment. Our team has been key to successful delivery of many the UK's most complex and demanding projects, for clients such as HS2, Highways England, Network Rail, the Environment Agency and many more. We are at the forefront of developing best practice and pragmatic approaches to DCO deliverables on many of the UK's most high-profile and complex Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), and have extensive capability in EIA, SEA, IIA and Sustainability Appraisals across the full project cycle.

We are looking for Senior Associate Director/Directors with a proven track record in leadership roles for major infrastructure projects to join our team leading some of the largest, most complex and exciting projects in the UK. You will have a key role in major project delivery, working closely with our clients and leading our consents and environmental assessment workstreams. Your experience will enable you to identify and manage risks to project delivery and maximise opportunities for efficiencies, promote innovation, provide mentorship and support technical development of our staff. You will bring strong professional relationships, provide thought leadership, support profile raising activities, and manage and develop positive relationships with our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Expert understanding and experience of environmental legislation, the EIA process, assessment methodologies, and best practice approaches for EIAs and ESs.
  • Experience and capability in Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP) and the Development Consent Order (DCO) process.
  • Ability to manage the environmental workstreams for Public Inquiry or Examination, and/or act as an Expert Witness.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary environmental teams and providing liaison and integration across project elements.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability and experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including public and statutory consultees
  • Strong leadership, project management and governance experience, with demonstrable commitment to health, safety and security and inclusivity, the integration of project legacy into decision making, and champion of innovative thinking to improve project and legacy outcomes.
