ENGIE are recruiting for an HVAC Engineer to be based at Royal Blackburn Hospital, BB2 3HH. This is a permanent, full time role working 40 hours a week. On offer is a salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, and high-quality benefits package.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager [TSM Mech.], the HVAC Engineer is part of the larger team of site-based engineers for the delivery of HVAC and the full range of services.
The main responsibilities include being involved with all validation, verification and commissioning relating to the HVAC plant with particular emphasis on critical ventilation systems and must be able to demonstrate comprehensive operational knowledge of these systems. The HVAC engineer will use their experience to support, encourage and develop the knowledge and capabilities of the wider technical team with the aim of ensuring that the HVAC systems are supported and maintained in compliance with HTM's, British Standards and all other relevant guidance.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the planning and completion of verifications, inspections, validations, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations
  • Be able to undertake fault finding on complex and critical systems, utilising cause and effect analysis, manufacturers literature, drawings and schematics to gain a solution
  • Operate BMS systems, specifically in the management and control of HVAC systems
  • Actively participate in the operation and control of planned maintenance schemes
  • Take part in the On-Call Engineer rota
  • Undertake the appropriate training and support be able to carry out any additional duties required of them including Competent Person and Appointed Person

Qualifications, Skills or Required Experience:
  • A technical background within HVAC services preferably having had significant exposure to a Healthcare environment
  • Holds (or has held) an AP/CP appointment for Ventilation
  • Significant demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • A relevant formal qualification in mechanical engineering and/or building services engineering or relevant trade qualification
