Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior CQV (Commissioning Qualification Validation) Engineer with extensive experience in Life Sciences. The incumbent reports to the Head of CQV department and is accountable to coordinate and manage all the C&Q activities from the CQV approach definition and design review in home office and the site coordination.



  • Prepare detailed Commissioning/Qualification/Validation Master Plan, project procedures, prepare or review commissioning and qualification protocols (SAT / commissioning, IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Support the Design Review (DR) process and coordinate the functional risk assessment
  • Review the technical documentation from the early design phase in order to include and align requirements of following CQV activities
  • Ensure that site project execution is undertaken in compliance with company and department procedures and safety standards are maintained
  • Provide performance and other project data for incorporation into the group's technical library
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the CQV activities in line with current guidelines and standards (ISPE and ASTM E2500)
  • Organize day-to-day activities of Commissioning Qualification Validation Engineers assigned to site
  • Act as day-to-day coordinator between the client and Wood Construction personnel on commissioning and qualification matters
  • Assist with client (operations, PQ) training if required
  • Direct or advise Client's staff with regard to correct pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Qualification activities
  • Investigate technical problems with assistance from Wood specialist engineers and suppliers
  • Prepare the final report and punch list required for the handover
  • Responsible for the systems hand-over to the client
  • Review performance progress
  • Ensure commissioning and qualification related experience and knowledge gained on projects is captured and incorporated into future projects


Skills / Qualifications




  • Degree in Engineering/Science
  • Previous experience as Lead Commissioning & Qualification Engineer or Manager level with large international projects, either in an office or site environment
  • Familiar with GXP, ISPE and ASTM E2500
  • Bid evaluation experience
  • Experience of training and mentoring junior staff members
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Strong leadership, decision making and influencing skills are required to ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets
