Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting E&I Foreman - Offshore, an exciting & challenging role on the BSP Offshore Rejuvenation project.

  • Read, understand, and implement all applicable company project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the electrical work scope is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Responsible for assisting the supervisor with supervision, coordination, testing and commissioning of various Electrical facilities onshore and offshore. Tasks will be set by the Supervisor or his nominated deputy from whom the foreman will receive instructions and to whom foreman shall report. The foreman shall also be responsible for the safety and conduct of contractor personnel and shall ensure that contract personnel abide by and respect company safety standards
  • Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable workpack job card instructions, associated procedures, and drawings sketches
  • Be able to clearly communicate and converse in English, and to be able to read technical drawings
  • Analytical ability to solve simple technical problems associated with his own discipline, plan and control work and materials
  • Provide support to other trades disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi - discipline team
  • Raising applicable Permit to Work (PTW) to complete work scope in a controlled and safe manner
  • Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) to complete work scope in a safe and controlled manner

  • 10 years' construction and commissioning experience (excluding training) in the oil petrochemical industry with knowledge and familiarity with industry terminology, practices, and standards

Competencies - technical


  • Conversant with standard switching and isolation earthing procedures on LV and HV (up to 11Kv) equipment. Preferably with knowledge of Merlin Gerin, Holec, Laurence Scott, Cutter Hammer, Westinghouse, GE Switch gear.
  • Conversant with standard electrical test equipment (voltmeters, resistance meter, injection test instruments, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of industrial electronics associated with control gear for motors, generators, switch gear, battery charges, etc. Knowledge of thyrister control drive systems would be an advantage
  • Possess good diagnostic and fault - finding ability
  • Ability to read understand procedures specifications drawings etc. in particular those pertaining to the electrical work scope
  • Ability to complete the certification requirements as applicable to the electrical work scope
  • Ability to recognize change
