Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Environmental Project Manager (Industrial Hygiene / Hazardous Materials) to join our team in Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate will develop, manage and perform industrial hygiene services in the Eastern Ontario region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Industrial Hygiene expertise and project management for various sampling, risk characterization, and contaminent assessments
  • Prepare proposals and s upport the growth of the industrial Eastern Ontario hygiene practice
  • Lead field surveys for indoor air quality, including asbestos, & lead-based paint
  • Coordination of designated Substances/Hazardous Materials Surveys; Indoor Air Quality Assessments, Hazardous Materials Tendering and Abatement Supervision
  • Develop and facilitate internal and client training presentations
  • Develop project document deliverable outlines and layouts, technical writing of reports & data interpretation
  • Provide status and progress reports to customers, project teams, and management
  • Develop &/or review project safety documentation (Job Hazard Analyses, Health and Safety Plans and Accident Prevention Plans)

Skills / Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and/or applicable (science/engineering) diploma required
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist certification or certified safety professional designation
  • 8+ years of relevant multi-disciplinary project management experience in a consulting environment
  • Subject matter expert in regulatory standards in areas of workplace safety and Industrial Hygiene
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations governing occupational safety and health
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driver's record and ability to travel to field sites and meetings
  • Excellent communication skills (Oral and Written) required
  • Eligibility to obtain Federal Reliability Security level clearance certificate is preferable
  • Some travel may be required
