Overview / Responsibilities

Wood (trading locally as PSNK) is currently looking for a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Atyrau (for KZ Nationals). We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance to ensure that the company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality projects to our client's requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the management of Civil/Structural Discipline
  • Responsible for structural analysis, design, specification and services related to concrete and steel structures for pipe racks, pipe bridges, buildings, and all types of oil-field infrastructure
  • Check calculations and designs by National engineers and provide feedback to encourage them to improve their engineering skills
  • Provide engineering input to Basis of Design, Design Reports and FEED studies
  • Supervise preparation of Job Packs and Material Requisitions
  • Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations
  • Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others
  • Provides mentoring and training to National engineers
  • Will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically. Will usually be a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer
  • Typical work scope for the Civil/Structural group includes: steel pipe-racks, and bridges, access stairs and platforms, buildings, reinforced concrete foundations and below ground structures, earthworks, roads, drainage, and occasional architectural work
  • As the Lead, plans, budgets, organizes, coordinates and controls the project and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower level professionals


Skills / Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 20+ years
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Good English is essential
