The operations site works framework is the successor to the MDSW & SWAC frameworks, to support reprocessing through to conclusion, hence the contract being let on a 3+1 basis from July 2017.

The key premise for the OneAIM Joint venture (an unincorporated JV between Jacobs & Interserve), is to deliver multidisciplinary site construction services (civil, mechanical, electrical) across the OUs and categorised projects value streams; in either jobs, tasks or major projects. OSW currently numbers c320 blue collar and 110 white collar personnel.

Since inception, the framework has delivered c£90M of completed works, with a significant framework focus on driving collaborative working principles (as delivery partners) and returning significant benefits realisation, by securing either cost certainty, cost reduction or cost avoidance via a make / buy approach, utilising our developed JV supply chain with reach back into the JV parent organisations.

Additional value is gained via early engagement in the 'prep & plan' phases of site activity, by finding better tools and better methods for constructability - on which to plan, coordinate and subsequently deliver the correct solution. All whilst meeting the site licence and framework requirements for nuclear safety, and the age-old project delivery trilemma of time, cost and quality - safely.

Key Responsibilities include:

The SPM Mechanical will be a strong leader who can plan, direct, and coordinate their operational area of responsibility, ensuring that operations run smoothly and according to the JV framework operating policy. The manager will ensure that sub-contractors and suppliers are properly managed and continue to meet the needs of the framework in accordance with the framework management plan. The qualities of a successful General Manager include vision, creativity, commitment, and leadership and can see and interpret the 'big picture' to make effective management decisions.

The SPM Mechanical Lead must be able to oversee and get involved as required with all aspects of the site areas (& stakeholders) that they are responsible for & work with other project / functional managers within the framework to ensure all aspects of projects are coordinated to ensure maximum productivity and commercial success. Also working with other managers to problem solve, sharing of information to promote continuous development of personnel and systems within the JV grouping. SC security clearance is required.
