Role Summary:

The Engineering manager will manage all aspects of sustaining of the Bently Nevada products, manage the team of product technical owners as well as the engineering and failure analysis labs. Also is responsible for implementing productivity tools, QMS procedures, processes, and for adequately staffing the team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain expectations of ownership, accountability, customer focus and quality at the individual and team level
  • Participate in strategic 3 year & short term planning for Multi Generation Technology Plans and required resource structure
  • Owns functional budgets, advocating for funding necessary to execute on deliverables to create value for our customers
  • Be responsible for Employee Development & Performance Management
  • Drive "No excuses" leadership culture with integrity and EHS
  • Drive tools in the team that allow leadership to plan for future events on a product line - allowing us to proactively work future issues
  • Manage the product vitality of all Bently Nevada products
  • Provide functional leadership of the team, including team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring
  • Provide strong guidance and contribution to Direct Material Productivity
  • Working closely with the product line management team, prioritize product backlog across entire Bently Nevada portfolio and ensure that the most critical items are being addressed
  • Engage with other functional managers within the team to ensure that the correct resources are engaged on the highest priority items
  • Identify gaps in products, recommend enhancements/NPIs and engage the product line management team to prioritize these requirements
  • Ensure RCAs are executed on CIRs and stop orders as required and that these lessons are fed back to the engineering team
  • Engage with the global teams in order to help them manage issues with their products

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in an Engineering field
  • Minimum 8 years engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 year management / leadership experience in an engineering organization within a matrix structure organization

  • Prior experience implementing new tools and processes within an engineering organization
  • Prior experience with lean six sigma projects within an engineering organization
