Commissioning Manager

The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for commissioning, retro-commissioning, and/or monitoring-based commissioning of projects. Some work may also include facilities condition assessments, construction administration, plan review, and plan check. The Commissioning Manager will also be responsible for supervising the Commissioning Department and growing it. In this regard, there are business development responsibilities and commissioning agent recruitment objectives.

Commissioning Manager skills require an ability to work on projects from concept stage through construction. Commissioning Manager skills require an ability to interface directly with clients, contractors, and facility operations personnel. The Commissioning Manager shall be able to fully communicate and address client's problems/questions/comments in a clear, professional manner.

When directly working on projects, the Commissioning Manager will act as the commissioning agent to complete the commissioning scope of services or will assign a subordinate commissioning agent in the Commissioning Department and act as a supervisor to that assigned commissioning agent .

The objective of commissioning is to provide documented confirmation that a facility fulfills the functional and performance requirements of the owner, designer, occupants, and operators. To reach this goal, it is necessary for the Commissioning Manager (or supervised Commissioning Agent) to establish and document the criteria for system function, performance, and maintainability; as well as to verify and document compliance with these criteria.
