Assistant Project Manager

The primary role of this position as an Assistant Project Manager (APM) is to support the project manager in the full range of the design, contract documents, and construction process. The APM takes an active role in and guides projects and project teams in each phase of work including scoping, design, construction documents, pre-construction, construction, close-out, and post-construction services.

The APM develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, consultants, and the construction team. The APM conducts team meetings and assists the Project Manager in client meetings and prepares estimates used by management for planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring work.

The APM assists the Project Manager and Marketing & Business Development with the creation and submission of project proposals.

The APM assists the Project Manager and Construction Administration Manager in all construction related activities, including contract document management, submittals and RFI processing and response, record drawings, and close out.

The APM shall keep track of all project deadlines, deliverable work products, and project timelines. This includes processing and managing the reproduction and distribution of construction documents for a wide variety of project types. It also includes coordinating communication efforts such as document scanning, duplication, and incoming and outgoing correspondence, as well as maintaining and organizing department and project files.

Requirements

Undergraduate 4-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or similar

Progressive experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, or Assistant Construction Manager

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Report-writing skills

Good organizational skills and initiative

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam or Acrobat, and MS Project

Preferred Qualifications

CMIT or PPM track

Masters or Masters work in Construction Management

Construction Cost Estimating experience
