Location: New Orleans, LA


Our client, a leader in the maritime industry, provides a wide variety of products and solutions. They are looking for a service engineer to join their team. This role will require a considerable amount of travel, 130 days/year on average, and will support the implementation and troubleshooting of their systems aboard customer vessels. The position will offer a number of different career paths, many which don't require extensive travel and can lead to overseas assignments for those who choose to do so. It has the culture and feel of a small company with the benefits of a being part of a much larger organization. The position will garner considerable overtime, paid at 1.5X and candidates will have a good opportunity to reach a 6-figure income in their first 12 months.



  • BSEE or similar 4 year technical degree
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Proficiency with C++ or other similar Object-Oriented language
  • Adept at troubleshooting hardware and software solutions
  • Ability to handle simultaneous activities and work in a hectic environment
  • Self-starter with an ability to multi-task
  • Responsive, quality focused, customer-oriented, and service-minded
  • Cooperative spirit and the ability to work in teams, but with the confidence to work on own, sometimes in high-pressure situations
  • Good communication skills, fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel on short notice, primarily to the Gulf of Mexico, but sometimes internationally




  • Provide technical assistance in the field with on call assignments and for Hardware and Software related issues pre and post sales
  • Attend and support sea trials during commissioning
  • 95% of non-shipboard duties can be done remotely, but will require occasional work in the New Orleans office-must be based in regional area
  • Responsible for reporting errors or defects on equipment delivered and suggest improvements
  • Produce and review Statistical Capability plots
  • Responsible for updating version control software and documentation after customer acceptance tests and service
  • Participate in 24-hour duty phone when needed, including availability for vessel off hire situations
  • Make proactive suggestions to customers on available upgrades and new products while visiting onboard
