Our client, a large Energy Corporation, is currently seeking a Spares and Inventory Coordinator for a 6 month contract in Happy Valley Goose Bay, Newfoundland

DIRECTION RECEIVED

Receives general direction from the Spares and Inventory Specialist and exercises good judgment and personal initiative in the performance of all activities required in this position.
Works closely with the LCP Project Delivery Teams to proactively problem solve various materials-related issues

DIRECTION EXERCISED

The incumbent is expected to work closely with the Spares & Inventory Specialist in ensuring all possible information is captured from the Project Delivery Teams for the purpose of upload into Power Supply's Computerized ERP system, JDE, for spares provided from the LCP Contractors.

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION

The incumbent will implement the spares and inventory processes for new assets. This work will include overseeing interim storage locations for transition, maintaining cataloguing systems for storage types, consolidating volumes and other duties. The incumbent will engage a wide group of key technical people within the LCP Project Delivery Team. The incumbent will report to the Inventory and Spares Specialist for direction in the process of inspections, collection of data and potential input into the system.

The incumbent will ensure all information set up in JDE is complete and accurate .

Verification and inspection of materials including population of upload templates for Inventory Control, Materials Classification, Identification through the inspection process of additional information to be captured for upload into JDE, Identification of shortages, damages, preservation issues.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complies with the Corporate EMS Program and ISO 14001. Ensures that all procedures identified in the Services Environmental Management System are followed and that employees are aware of all environment responsibilities.
  • Administers and maintains Material Quality Assurance program, including Materials Classification, Standards, Testing, Quality Control and Inspection

"Shall be familiar with the Environmental Policy and Guiding Principles and applicable environmental Standard Operating Procedures.


EDUCATION

Mechanical or Electrical Technology Diploma. Courses in business systems or Supply Chain/Purchasing designations such as Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) from Supply Chain Canada or successful completion of American Production and Inventory Control Society (A.P.I.C.S) a definite asset. Other combination of training, knowledge and experience that would lead to successful completion of the principle job scope.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible materials management experience with public utility, industrial or large manufacturing firm. Working knowledge of computerized Inventory Control systems, Materials Management systems, or other related EDP experience.

Must have well developed organizational, planning, interpersonal and communications skills. Team building and problem solving skills. Working knowledge of current business processes, systems and practices is essential. Must have sound judgment and decision-making skills. Must have the ability to deal effectively with Vendors and senior staff. Must possess a good working knowledge of computers with appropriate awareness of various corporate applications as necessary. These may include, but are not limited to, the Microsoft suite of applications, JDE, computerized inventory, and maintenance programs.
