We are looking for a driven and passionate design-focused Roadway Project Manager/Transportation Department Manager to support our growing transportation team in Ohio.

As a key member of our team, based in any one of our major Ohio offices, you'll have the chance to lead multi-disciplined transportation projects that focus on challenging highway, roadway, and interchange projects and pursuits. Your immediate assignments as Project Manager will be to oversee and manage large transportation projects throughout Ohio and be responsible for managing project teams to perform preliminary and final design engineering and prepare construction plan documents to satisfy requirements for local and state roadway projects. As Department Manager, you will lead and supervise transportation staff located in multiple offices across several states, ensuring staff workload, mentoring, and career development and growth.

Qualifications:

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Demonstrated experience managing all phases of project delivery (from design/planning through construction) for major transportation projects for State DOTs and municipalities
  • Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other related engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated experience managing subconsultants and subcontractors
  • Understanding of budgets, billability goals, staffing, earned value and managing people
  • Solid communication skills - verbal and written
  • Understanding of scopes that may include, but not limited to: survey & mapping, permitting, environmental documents and related studies, public involvement, traffic studies and analysis, roadway/drainage design, geotechnical investigations, structures design, utilities, right-of-way acquisition, submittal reviews, and construction drawings. Scope may also include Owner's Representative via construction engineering, support, and inspection.


Ideally, Here's What You'll Also Have:

  • An emphasis on transportation projects with prior Ohio DOT experience
  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods, preparing project approaches, and fee estimates for proposals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple project stakeholders, including clients, the public, utilities and regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrated management/leadership roles
