The Company

My client is successful, dynamic and growing contracting business who works within Civil Engineering, Water and Utilities sectors.
They are currently growing year on year in the UK and have a healthy turnover.

As a result of increased workload, they are looking to hire an experienced Planning Engineer to assist the Operations Director and Project Management team in program activities across High Volume, Low Value Utilities installation & regeneration framework projects.

The Role

The role is to provide planning and programming on projects mainly using Microsoft Project with Primavera P6 skills an advantage.
The role will also involve working with bid and construction teams to manage and control the planning and programming aspects of bid proposals and multiple projects in progress.

Day to day activities include
" Independently producing plans and schedules to assist with delivery processes, proposals and tenders.
" Providing planning support on Primavera P6 to project managers.
" Challenge the delivery teams on timescales, theories & methods.
" Monitor and adhere to contractual agreements.
" Work closely with the Project Management and Site Teams.
" Visit sites where appropriate.
" Monitor and manage factors such as risk, progress, timescales and cost.
" Liaise with clients, project management teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
The Candidate
" Minimum of 5 years' experience as a planner working on both clean and waste water schemes
" Be experienced with using MSP with P6 skill knowledge an advantage
" Provide detailed support and assistance to the project in order to enable the team to monitor pinch-points on the critical path and test and change logic where previously agreed to either improve upon the baseline programme or to mitigate potential delays
" Develop and produce fully logic linked and integrated tender programme comprising the design, procurement, construction and commission compliant with tender sum, design (where appropriate) and methodology without assistance
" Ensure planning and programming is produced on time by understanding the planning process to meet challenging deadlines, understanding the interface and reliance between elements/ disciplines, and developing and monitoring integrated design, procurement, construction and commissioning programmes.
" Input to the risk management process
" Programme and Data manipulation to manage workflow including resource and cost levelling
