Bureau Veritas North America is currently seeking qualified Structural Plan Check Engineer with a
minimum of five years' experience in performing plan reviews for commercial, industrial, and
residential buildings for codes adopted in the State of Nevada.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in related courses such as structural, civil or
mechanical engineering.
Registration as a Licensed Structural or Civil Engineer in Nevada is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
Duties to include, but are not limited to, a full range of plan reviews for various types of structures for
NV specific building code compliance.
Job Requirements:
Review complex private development drawings and specifications for commercial, industrial and
residential projects to ensure compliance with current codes and standards.
Performs review for compliance with NV Building Standards Code and local amendments including
structural, fire and life-safety, accessibility, energy, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design.
Performs WQMP report review
Coordinates with plan review team and take the lead in resolving inquiries received from clients,
public, designers, contractors.
Reviews substantially complex technical reports, structural and energy calculations and studies.
Ability to act as primary point of contact with clients, translating their needs into the appropriate client
maintenance and retention activities.
Assists in client acquisition and promotional activities including the preparation of proposals and
statements of qualifications, oral interviews and marketing promotions.
Performs occasional field inspections to ensure that construction is in conformance with applicable
codes and regulations, including all applicable local/federal water quality and accessibility
requirements.
Can discuss, explain, and answer client questions in writing and/or orally regarding code
compliance and plan review corrections clearly and concisely.
Required Skills:
Must be a NV Registered Structural or Civil Engineer.
ICC Certified client service attitude
Excellent communication skills
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, and 5 or more years' experience performing
commercial, industrial and residential building design or plan reviews; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Ability to work independently, willing to put in the effort to meet deadlines

**This is a "part-time as needed" role which means the work and hours will vary based on the client's needs. You may work a few hours or a few days one week and the next none or one week a full week and the next week a few days.
