As the Commercial Strategy Analyst, you will support the Utility Scale Renewable Development business in the US by managing the project acquisition process, assessing and formalizing development partnerships and contributing to the development and implementation of the USRD businesses commercial strategy. This position reports directly to the VP of Commercial Strategy and is open to the Houston, Denver, Chicago, Santa Barbara and San Francisco locations.

What you'll do:

  • Primary responsibility is to support the Commercial Strategy team in the Utility Scale Renewable Development business with insightful analysis and deep industry understanding
  • Synthisize research from 3 rd party providers as well internal groups at ENGIE into coherent and inclusive research
  • Support the strategy development and revision process by running cross functional meetings and workshops that engage constituents and stakeholders across the business
  • Support the M&A team on transactions and process development and process management
  • Support the Strategic Supply team with processes and analysis that support the selection of equipment and negotiation of detailed supply agreements.
  • Develop and maintain, with other groups, commercial and competitive intelligence


What you bring:



  • Minimum of 2 years experience within the energy industry as an analyst or associate at a developer, utility, bank, investor or similar market participant
  • Bachelors degree in finance, economics, mathematics, science, engineering or similar technical or analytics based program
  • Outstanding analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed, Excel-based, financial models
  • Energy market experience and expertise
  • Commercial acumen in addition to deep analytic and/or technical capabilities
  • Proven flexible team player who works well with others
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and to work effectively under pressure
  • Behavioral capabilities: self-motivated, problem solving, strong personality and leadership, common sense, attention to detail, ability to learn and sense of humor
