International Financial Reporting Accountant

The Financial Reporting team are seeking a technically grounded qualified Accountant to join the team, who is a quick learner and demonstrates a commitment to effective teamwork.

Core Responsibilities the International Financial Reporting Role
Legal Entities
Plan and Coordinate preparation of all Financial Statements for Jersey, Netherlands and other jurisdictions, as requested.
Working with in-country external suppliers where appropriate, to ensure the Financial Statements are prepared and reviewed under the relevant GAAPs and meet local statutory requirements.
Understand, document and communicate to the relevant stakeholders the Financial Reporting requirements for each entity assigned to the role
Prepare and present budgets and outlooks, including memos, to the relevant Board of Directors.
Prepare analysis and reports to comply with International transparency regulatory requirements.
Work closely with the Internal Audit team to ensure process and controls are in place, and maintained, to enhance the control environment.
Act as a focal point liaising with Tax, Insurance and Treasury (tax compliance & funding are key areas) to and coordinate any necessary restructuring.
Work proactively with the Treasury team to ensure appropriate financing is in place to support business activities. Produce cashflow forecasting to support Financial Reporting and Treasury requirements.
Proactively identify gaps in processes and seek or opportunities for improvement. Work with multiple stakeholders to agree and implement improvement plans.
Ensure the Financial ledgers are maintained to a very high standard and accounts are reconciled within agreed timelines.
Ensure the processes are documented and operate effectively for the approval of invoices relating to Companies assigned to this role.

Transition Responsibilities
Assume ownership for Bonus and Retention Accounting for the Companies supported from the UK, formerly handled by Head Office in Canada.
Reconcile and resolve any historic differences relating to Bonus and Retention Accounting and other accounts assigned to this role, to ensure clean data prior to conversion to the new ERP system.
Coordinate the Intercompany process and invoicing between the Companies supported from the UK and worldwide.
Prepare and cross-review divisional reporting assigned to this role.
Proactively identify gaps in processes or opportunities for improvement. Work with multiple stakeholders to agree and implement an improvement plan.
Document a RACI and detailed process note for each process to ensure a planned and effective transition of responsibilities to the person responsible after transition.
Create and maintain a rolling plan for key activities to ensure entities assigned to this role meet the requirements of internal and external stakeholders. This includes ensuring roles, responsibilities and deadlines are agreed, documented and progress communicated.

Must have
Qualified Accountant with strong technical grounding in IFRS.
Excellent planning skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
Quick learner with a structured approach to problem solving.
A strong influencing ability and a high degree of flexibility in your working style to adapt to changing environments and priorities
