About the opportunity
This is a very unique opportunity to influence the future of one of the largest ecological restoration projects on the planet, the project has been running for many years and the Jacobs team is well established, focus has moved from remediation to restoration of this large area in the coastline of Saudi Arabia from the Kuwait border to Abu Ali Island and Jubail Industrial City.
Your primary function will be leading program planning and management activities, providing expertise and technical support and UNCC communications and reporting activities as required by the KSA Remediation and Restoration Program and our client.
Specific tasks include preparation of reports, RFPs, technical documents, presentations, meeting minutes and summaries, review of contractor work products and invoices, oversight of Contractor works to verify contract compliance. Specific scope, numbers of documents and deliverables is not defined and is subject to change based on client decisions.

You will have 8 direct reports and be responsible for leading the team by example, presence, communications and engagement with each individual. Team counts on the PM as their beacon, director, coach and stabilizing influence.

You will act as the internal Jacobs Project Manager - Responsible for management of all aspects on the PMSC projects in accordance with the policies and procedures required for all Jacobs projects.
In addition, you will be the General Manager of the company set up to deliver the project - Responsible to fulfill General Manager requirements as head of the legal entity that houses the PMSC projects. This includes business management, banking, legal compliance, and other roles/responsibilities as required by law for an operating company in KSA.
The PM must possess an accredited bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, engineering, ecosystem management, biology, chemistry or related field; an accredited master's degree in same is preferable though may be substituted with additional relevant experience.
The PM must possess a minimum of 25 years of direct work experience in environmental and/or ecological projects with 5 of those years as Project Manager lead with senior management reporting.
The PM must possess specific experience in management and delivery of United Nation (or practical equivalent) related environmental projects/programs.
Previous experience in Saudi Arabia helpful. The ideal candidate will have extensive environmental experience in the US or UK Remediation/ Restoration Projects.
The PM must possess excellent written and verbal skills and be able to communicate in written and spoken English.
The PM must possess computer literacy with experience in the Microsoft Office software suite and project management/scheduling software.
Attributes and experience:
•Preferably a scientist with site characterization, remediation, restoration experience.
•Quick learner willing to come up to speed on project history and develop a working familiarity with the Coastal and Terrestrial projects and to show the client that you are, in fact, knowledgeable and engaged.
•Adaptable, responsive to client requests while keeping a focus on program requirements and what can realistically be accomplished
•Good listener who can help translate what the client is asking for into something that can be delivered and is responsive to their wants/needs.
•Able to build a trusted working relationship with the project team so they know you care about them.
