This position will be initially established at Ridgecrest, California in support of Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake and in direct support of earthquake recovery work through approximately 2023. The work location can thereafter be flexibly located in the general southern CA area and is expected to thereafter support similar project assignments as various locations, predominantly in the U.S. West, but potentially throughout the United States.

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for structural design review and construction administration for multiple design build projects including new structures as well as existing structural upgrades. Project building types may include operational, administrative and training facilities, maintenance and industrial facilities, Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation facilities, ammunition, fuels, and general storage facilities, and mission critical facilities, among others.

The position requires the selected candidate to support the Program Manager, NAVFAC SW Design Branch and Jacobs multi-disciplinary design team to facilitate Post Award Design Support (PADS) and Post Construction Award Support (PCAS) for the 31 projects currently in various stages of execution.

Responsibilities:
•Work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards
•Review drawings and specification detailing the Structural System designed for quality, level of completeness and adherence to the proposal documents.
•Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials
•Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including document management and processing RFI's and Change Orders
•Support PM, senior designer and/or senior engineer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets
•Participate in internal and external meetings and document discussions
•Gather information, communicate with stakeholders, makes studies, performs calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches as required
•Perform routine tasks under general supervision using well-defined standards, procedures and codes
•Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
•Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research
•Review structural computations and analysis of concrete, steel, Masonry and timber structures and conducts calculation checks.

Qualifications:

•Bachelors' Degree in Structural Engineering
•7+ years' Structural design experience
•Working knowledge of Building codes such as IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7
•Experience with industrial building types
•Experience in the analysis and design of structures including seismic design

Preferred:
•U.S. Citizenship is Preferred.
•Candidates must be Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Structural Engineer
•Proficiency in Bluebeam, REVIT and AutoCAD
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel program
•Experience with structural engineering software such as Enercalc, RAM, RISA, ETABS and SAP or similar tools
•Experience in Department of Defense, United States Army Corp of Engineers and / or NAVFAC
•Knowledge of the federal Unified Facilities Codes (UFCs) and DoD regulations
•Experience with Hangars, Cranes, Control Towers, Airport Design, and Energetics is preferred.
