Position Specific Description
Lone Star is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Protection and Control Engineer to support the field operation group. Lone Star is a rate-regulated transmission service provider in Texas, owns and operates approximately 330 miles of high-voltage transmission lines and associated equipment. Employees in this role apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. Provide direct support to achieve safe, reliable and regulatory compliant construction, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance of protective relaying systems, substation integration & automation systems, substation control systems and remote terminal units. Execute, track and report out maintenance and project progress. Ensure compliance to NERC (PRC, CIP), TRE and ERCOT reliability standards, guides and protocols for station equipment. Ensure compliance to construction specifications, operating standards and procedures. Main office location for this position will be in Abilene, TX and will travel to substations as needed.

This job is responsible for evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks. This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.

• Prepares communications, presentations and provides support at meetings
• Formulates researches, and develops improvement measures
• Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
• Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
• Ability to work extended hours
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
• Bachelor's - Engineering
• Experience:5+ years
• Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
• Master's Degree
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
• Six Sigma Master Black Belt
