My Client is a principal contracting company who undertake Civil Engineering, Specialist Piling and Earthworks Projects
The company is currently growing year on year and has recently taken on multiple Civils & Earthworks projects throughout the North West.
They have a friendly and personable team, have been trading many years and have low staff attrition.
Due to new projects my Client are now looking for a new Temporary Works Coordinator to work across various sites in & around Birmingham on specialist high profile projects.
" Write SB3 temporary works procedure in line with the Client temporary works procedure requirements.
" Identify and assess the scope of temporary works.
" Review the design output and ensure it addressed the design brief.
" Ensure site team has been made aware of any residual design risks temporary works elements and there are adequate and suitable control measures in place to mitigate against those risks.
" Ensure site team has been issued with full approved design drawings and specifications, design change details and any other information necessary for the construction of the design works.
" Review RAMS and ITP. Ensure that they are suitable for safely controlling the work and that the suitable Hold Point is incorporated in the sequence to verify the construction.
" Appoint Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS).
" Ensure that TWS carries out their role and ensure that the TWS carry out their inspections of the works.
" Inspect every significant item of temporary works requiring permit to load at each Hold Point and issue the Permit when satisfied.
" Suitable previous job experience (7-10 years), including sufficient engineering knowledge and understanding of similar temporary works and the risks which such works will entail.
" Ability to demonstrate technical and practical skills such as being able to read, understand and implement drawings, sketches and specifications.
" Ability to identify where temporary works are likely to be required on site.
" Ability to independently recognise their knowledge and skill limitations and the limitations of those they will be working with.
" Ability and independence to make engineering decisions that will not be compromised by commercial, programme or other pressures.
" Capable and having the knowledge and experience to assess the competence of any TW Supervisors they appoint.
" Having the authority, strength of character and ability to stop the work.
" knowledge and experience to fully understand the assumed methods of construction and loading constraints.
" Must possessed a valid CSCS card.
" Must hold a valid CITB TWC qualification (initial 2-day training, then a refresher every 5 years.
