Position Summary

The HSE Advisor will have a commitment to achieving zero harm, responsible for providing support and advice to Company and Contractor on OHS issues and working with stakeholders to implement strategies that lead to improvements in HSE performance.

Be located at site or offshore, providing oversight and support in the application of safe working practices, in line with contactors HSEMS

Required to monitor and support Contractor in terms of compliance with Contractor management system and any contractual obligations related to the offshore construction activity. Engaging the Contractor on implementation of relevant standards to ensure safe work practices and conditions are achieved.

Must be a self-starter, be practical and have ability to communicate effectively and interact positively on the shop floor and with Company and Contractor management teams to achieve the best results.

Structure

 

The incumbent will work for the Upstream (EPCI) function and report directly to the Upstream HSE Manager

Key Accountabilities

Working with the contractor to maintain compliance with contractors management systems

Coaching contractor on application and effectiveness of procedures and how to effectively manage the risk

Behavioral safety and control of work emphasis around key risk activities

Reporting performance and analysis to the HSE Manager through predetermined meetings and reports

Influence over Resources

  • Ability to lead, motivate, direct and develop disciplined staff and facilitate delivery via other functional and operations staff
  • The incumbent is responsible for the efficient use of their personal time to ensure all tasks are achieved within allocated project plan milestones, or time lines given

Authority for Change

Position Specific

  • Influence internal and external stakeholders for improvements in the field of quality, welding and materials which benefit the project.

2. PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience Needed

Minimum Education:

• Recognized HSE related qualification

• Min 5 years Oil and Gas and related HSE experience. Subsea equipment installation and vessel experience is preferred.

• HSE experience / competencies must include;

o Auditor

o Incident Investigation

o Coaching

o Control of Work

• Advanced knowledge in management of the following would be beneficial;

o Rigging and Lifting

o Work at Height

o Store Energy

 

 

Language Requirements:

  • Fluent English required
