Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Surrey - Contract until end of 2020 initially. Immediate start.
Electrical Commissioning Engineer will be a COMPANY qualified electrical commissioning engineer in the EMEA region and support development for electrical commissioning team globally.
This is primarily a site based role, it is expected that the incumbent may visit sites within Europe, Africa and the Middle East building and leading the team of Electrical Commissioning resources for a project. However, it is also expected there may be some time spent office based will be reviewing isolation and switching procedures, electrical checksheet generation and Company approval.
The Commissioning Engineer will refer back to the Lead Electrical Engineer EMEA, Start Up Manager, Project Manager on project specific issues or any commissioning or safety related issues.
The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will provide site leadership in EH&S ensuring prompt prioritisation and coordination of all risks, issues and unforeseen issues at site, escalating as required.
The Electrical Commissioning Engineer must be able to provide routine reports on site status and issues for management along with site troubleshooting, testing and leading contractor workforce.
The most challenging part of the job is that schedules are often tight. There can be a lot of pressure on the team to meet tight deadlines. Planning and communicating is therefore an essential requirement of the role.

" Minimum 10 years site experience working in chemical, petrochemical or related process industries.
" COMPANY electrical qualifications or equivalent and ability to complete COMPANY programme
" An electrical lead with extensive knowledge of electrical MV, LV distribution systems, variety of switchgear types including protection relays and control systems.
" Detailed technical understanding and practical knowledge of MV, LV induction and synchronous motors / generators.
" Knowledge and experience with MV and LV variable speed drive and soft start systems
" Knowledge and experience with Hazardous area equipment selection, Company application and operations
" Working knowledge of IS and IEC standards is essential. Experience working with engineering codes and design practices including ANSI, NEMA and NEC codes would be a desirable additional skill set.
" Strong planning, coordination and risk management and interpersonal skills.
" Ability to support workload planning for engineering, construction, commissioning phases
" Provide training and guidance for less experienced engineers.
" Strong Microsoft software skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
" Passport, internationally mobile. Flexible attitude to travel, sometimes at short notice.
REPORTING TO: To whom will the person report.
" The position will report to the EMEA Commissioning Manager
" On specific projects there may also be a reporting line in to the Construction Site Manager and to the Project Director.
WORKING HOURS: Full/Part Time; Contract/Permanent
Full Time with potentially long working hours on site requirement
Travel will be required both locally and internationally
Rotations will be required for international travel according to COMPANY policy.
