Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering/physics support for all existing Reuter-Stokes' radiation detectors - internal support for production and external support for Customers
  • Generate innovative ideas for new product offerings and/or product enhancements in the radiation detection field
  • Set-up and conduct experiments/tests using radiological sources for the purpose of evaluating performance
  • Develop qualification/test programs for new/modified products and set-up and execute prescribed tests
  • Support production and continuous improvement of all Reuter-Stokes product lines with sustaining engineering/physics activities for Engineering Change Management (ECM) and Non-Conformance Report (NCR) systems
  • Coordinate/lead multiple project tasks with the product Engineering Team Lead and work directly with the respective Product Line, Quality, and Supply Chain Teams to ensure continued growth of the product line
  • Join other physicists, engineers, and technicians in a team environment, allowing for new ideas while embracing speed and excellence


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering / Physics from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Nuclear Engineering / Physics industry.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 15%


Desired Characteristics
  • Advanced technical degree in Nuclear Engineering or Physics
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with Boiling Water Reactors, Pressurized Water Reactors, or similar
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in product development
  • Hands-on test experience as applied to failure and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma/Lean Quality Techniques
  • At least 3 years of experience in designing products for harsh environments (nuclear environment)
  • Experience leading projects and the ability to develop and execute plans for new programs, while meeting project deliverables of technical objectives, cost, and timing
  • Work experience in an ISO 9000 environment
  • Familiarity with SAP business system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels
  • Must be results oriented self-starter with track record of delivering results
  • Demonstrated ability to provide work with internal and external customers - especially regarding product design specifications
