My client is an international consultancy who specialise in Chemical and Petrochemical project. Due to an upcoming Turnaround, the client is searching a Turnaround Planner to be based near Dusseldorf on site to support the Turnaround for a 6 month renewable contract. The Turnaround Planner will be required to speak German due to the German documentation available.
As a member of the project management team you are the first contact for customers and ultimately responsible for all aspects of the project.
You will ensure that projects are completed within schedule and budget with maximum customer satisfaction. You act
as the spider in the web of internal departments and also work very closely with the engineering department,
purchasing and the workplace.
During the sales phase, you will support our sales engineers to determine the technical feasibility of docking
systems and see to reliably estimate. Upon receipt of the sales you escorted specific- the complete system
according to customer design, environmental and safety requirements.
The Turnaround Planner activities include:
Project evaluations, assessing suppliers and subcontractors, consultation with the Operations Manager to
schedule and then delegate the various tasks within the team of engineers, production managers, designers,
control engineers and planners. In cooperation with our buyers voice your Long Lead Items with suppliers and
send you on turnaround within the defined critical path.
The Turnaround planner will be required to have experience in:
• Attending meetings with our customers (domestic and foreign).
• The signalling, registration and match of deviations from the Scope of Work (SOW).
• Giving (technical) support to the sales engineers.
• Discussing the kick-off documents during internal transfer.
• Drawing up a project schedule.
• Aligning with long lead items and evaluating bids from suppliers.
• Supporting our customers during testing and inspection in our factory (FAT).
• Ensuring compliance with quality and safety during transportation and installation.
• Providing after-care for ongoing and / or completed assignments.
You have at least 5 years experience in a role as project leader or project manager. You work proactively, are stress resistant and have an attitude of service. You have excellent communication skills, written skills in German and English. You know to handle the usual MS Office applications and experience with SolidWorks is an advantage.
