Job Title Senior Subsea Control System and Umbilical Engineer

Reports to Engineering Manager (Offshore)

Project Information

Basic Design and FEED document review, supervision and support during the

EPC/EPIC tendering stage for on- and off-shore facilities of a Brown & Greenfield gas field

Job Objectives
  • Supervision of Basic Design and FEED engineering activities
  • Support of EPC / EPIC tendering


Duties and Responsibilities

Leads & coordinates discipline as a project management team member.

Manages the interface between Client's project team and subsea control system engineering design team.

Manages all discipline related engineering activities, review and approval (internal and where applicable Client approval) of deliverables, inter- disciplinary checks and assures compliance with contractual requirements.

Ensure the changes within the process discipline are managed and communicated to the other discipline in cases they are affected.

Responses to Technical Queries (TQ's) and written clarification requests by 3rd parties and attend clarification meetings

Technical Document Review

Ensures that correct input data and compliance with codes & standards.

Reviews of project basis of design, technical queries, and active participation in the stage of data gathering.

Reviews selection and implementation of correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for the project and/or proposes improvements for the design.

Reviews various discipline related engineering deliverables (Basis of Designs, Philosophies, Control System Design (MCS), Schematics, System Architecture, Control Block Diagrams, PFDs, UFDs and P&IDs, C&E Matrices, Alarm & Trip Schedule, Line & Equipment Lists, Drawings, Data Sheets, Specifications, Functional Requirements for Umbilicals & Tie-ins, Hydraulic & Production Chemical Distribution, Layouts, other discipline related Documents, etc.).

Education & Accreditation

University degree, BEng, BSc, MEng or MSc in Electrical or Instrument & Controls Engineering

Chartered status with a discipline relevant recognized engineering institution is considered advantageous

Experience Required:

Brown & Greenfield projects

System & Equipment Design:

Offshore Oil & Gas Facilities

Subsea tie-backs

Subsea gas production wells and their controlSubsea Instruments, specifically multiphase meters SCADA systems, with central control centres

Implementation/development of relevant offshore/onshore software functions at all control levels

Common instrumentation and Station/Unit Control Systems including Master Control Stations (MCS), Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), Electrical Power Units (EPU), Topside Umbilical Termination Units (TUTU)

Umbilical Design Requirements

Other
  • Previous role as senior/lead engineer in PMC projects
  • Previous position as commissioning engineer is considered advantageous
  • Previous position in an operating company is considered advantageous
  • Previous position in onshore project is considered advantageous
  • Supporting procurement activities
  • Minimum 15 years professional experience in Subsea Engineering
  • Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom. Visa or work permit assistance will not be provided.


Daily rate has been set by our client and is non negotiable.
