The Knowledge Manager role is responsible for the creation and maintenance of all procurement knowledge data support Procurement Users and Employees. This a leadership role with the myProcurement organization with the selected employee having responsibility for deploying knowledge to ensure effective support in the way users wish to receive it. A core part of these responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a Knowledge Strategy for GBS Procurement
  • Designing and maintaining a global knowledge base holding end to end procurement knowledge consumed by Procurement Employees and Users
  • Reduce the need to for support through proving self-help via a 'bot'
  • Understanding and deploying standard methodologies in Knowledge Management
  • Continuous improvement through evaluating support needs and understand the specific business need

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Knowledge Strategy for BP
  • Develop and maintain a "knowledge roadmap" with the ultimate goal of supporting myProcurement's journey to providing end to end procurement support
  • Prioritize needs based on the greatest opportunity to reduce the need for future support
  • Define required Knowledge, which will include but not limited to FAQ's, knowledge articles, critical data, processes, policies, strategies and interpersonal
  • Ensure usability across the various platforms that knowledge will be deployed
  • Ensure compliance with BP's communication and digital standards
  • See opportunities to optimize knowledge sharing within GBS Procurement
  • Develop and maintain a centralized toolkit of techniques, methods, and tools for the bring together, creation, and re-use of Knowledge within GBS Develop and provide reporting on knowledge usage
  • Create a feedback mechanism, understand the knowledge needs
  • Engage with the BP users and the myProcurement leaders to understand key challenges where knowledge is needed to improve agent efficiency or provide simple to use self-help content provided by a 'Bot'
  • Continually supervise incoming support requests looking identify and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities about Knowledge Management for all of GBS Procurements digital tools, processes and strategies
  • Engage with key procurement leaders across all of the pillars to prioritize and understand their outstanding offerings and needs
  • Work with domain specialists to develop content and ensure processes and policies are translated clearly and consistently and communicated via appropriate Channels.
  • Maintain oversight of content lifecycle management
  • Understand the output and ensure fit for purpose content
  • Support the myProcurement Digital Strategy
  • Own and maintain all content in the myProcurement knowledgebase
  • Deploy the knowledge to self-help tools including a 'Bot'
  • Ensure an effective Desktop reference for myProcurement agents improving their ability to provide support to our users
  • Establish relationships with Knowledge domain specialists within BP and externally, to ensure awareness and where relevant adoption of good practices
  • In conjunction with Operational leads to plan and prioritize User and Agent training

Essential criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business or related field
  • 5+ years of knowledge management experience
  • Demonstrated track record of deploying knowledge programs in a corporate environment
  • Specialist in interpersonal skills
  • Sophisticated degree in a business or finance field or similar field.
  • Experience using digital knowledge tools including knowledge bases, search tools
  • Specialist in classifying, tagging and organizing data
  • Solid project management experience
  • Outstanding teamwork skills

Desired criteria

  • Specialist in S2C and P2P systems
  • A deep understanding of the Procurement Processes and Operations
  • Expertise in developing and facilitating training content and materials
  • Certified in a CI field
  • Experience leading high complexity projects
