Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting Laborer/Fire Watch/Spotter with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to work in Williston, ND.

Authorization to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship from Wood required.

 

  • Job requires flexibility to work as spotter, fire watcher and laborer to all other crews
  • Must be able to perform physical work. The tasks that the employee will be assigned to perform will require them to follow instructions very carefully.
  • Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job
  • Recognize various materials used in piping systems and demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate material handling techniques
  • Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, fork lifts, and company trucks
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills n safe rigging practices
  • Identify, explain and perform crane hand signals
  • Demonstrate ability to work with a craft person
  • Identify, recognize and select appropriate materials related to specific crafts
  • The employee must be able to deal correctly with problems involving a few variables in or form very standard situations
  • Must be able to perform a variety of duties that may possibly change
  • Employees must with within standards of accuracy
  • Be able to repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure and evaluate information using measurable standards
  • Demonstrate ability to perform manual excavation
  • The employee is expected to work using all of the safe equipment that OSHA requires as well as what is required by Wood

 

 


Skills / Qualifications

May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.

 

 

  • Job requires flexibility to work as spotter, fire watcher and laborer to all other crews
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Works under immediate supervision.
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Work at heights without fear.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing no more than 50 pounds.
  • Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
  • May be required consistently to work 12 hour shifts performing construction based labor in varying temperature extremes and conditions
