Senior Advisor Project development

for the refinery in Gelsenkirchen, Germany

Your tasks:

  • You evaluate project ideas based on the operational and technical framework of the site
  • You work together with the Operations, Planning and Business Development departments to develop profitability scenarios and carry out initial process development, including cost estimates
  • You start new projects and edit them in the Front-End Loading (FEL) phase
  • You win project gatekeepers and other stakeholders for your project
  • You develop and evaluate feasible variants for selected projects, using the Best Practice Process Design methodology
  • You control the engineering services of external contractors with regard to the above-mentioned objectives
  • You will participate in the handover of the projects to the project management and execution team after the successful completion of the FEL

Our Requirements:

  • Diploma- Master's degree in engineering science, ideally chemistry or process engineering
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in refinery and/or petrochemical environment in the field of operations, process engineering (technology), plant safety, maintenance and/or project management
  • Business management knowledge in the refinery and petrochemicals sector and experience in resource management of contractors
  • Experience in a similar role in a large (>€50 million) project in a refinery or petrochemical environment would be an advantage
  • The ability to design solid, cost-effective and fast solutions with minimal effort
  • Intercultural competence and the ability to communicate with the most diverse employees and to win them over
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Ability to work in a team and commitment to get the work done
