Responsible for supporting the delivery of reliability and maintenance activities, using basic technical and analytical capabilities to provide guidance on the best approach to ensure the safety, efficiency and reliability of operations.


Key responsibilities

Work with relevant persons to develop and execute an optimal inspection plan to ensure structure and equipments' integrity, safety and reliability.
To develop inspection plan according to inspection strategy, ensure the inspection plan is discussed sufficiently by relative persons.
To assess contractor's competency, safely and effectively execute inspection work according to inspection plan.
To maintain and analyse inspection record and data timely to evaluate equipment condition, integrity and regulation compliance. Identify gaps and propose actions for relevant discipline to maintain compliance sustain equipment performance for safe and efficient operation, draft inspection report in time.
To confirm repairing Quality according to inspection recommendation.
To lead in assigned area and work with maintenance, operation and other discipline to perform Root Cause Failure Analysis for equipment failure, propose reliability improvement solutions in assigned area
To ensure special equipment inspection compliance with the BP global and local regulation.
To maintain inspection tools in good condition.

Coordination and communication
To negotiate with regulatory agent to fix regulatory inspection work scope and develop detailed work schedule. To coordinate and support regulatory agent to perform work safely at our site. Follow through till completion of revalidated register certificate for equipments as regulatory code.
To coordinate and supervise third party contractors for inspection and special services to work safely at site and meet our work quality/quantity requirement
To provide technical advice/training in his/her own area on predictive and preventive inspection methodology/techniques to other functions for decision making
To network with BP internal or external to share and promote best practice of inspection and predictive maintenance.

To conduct job safety analysis and to identify risks associated with proposed inspection.
To report any unsafe condition, potential environmental problem, any opportunities and propose recommendation to improve in his/her work area based on his/her knowledge, experience and lesson learnt.
To ensure safe working condition/area for contractor etc. additional workforce work under his/her supervision.


Educational background

University graduated, majored in mechanical engineering or material & anticorrosion, or equivalent discipline.

Experience (years and nature)

Requires at least 5 years of experience on equipment maintenance or mechanical engineering in processing plant;
Working knowledge and understanding of equipment structure, operating principle and failure mechanism;
Working knowledge and experience on material selection, equipment repairing, NDT and inspection in process plant;
Good understanding of national regulatory code and working experience with governmental authority and inspection institute
Good understanding and working experience on maintenance & reliability management like predictive, preventive maintenance techniques/tool and its application.


Ability to interpret engineering code and standard for static equipment in order to provide expertise to repair and operation ;
Understand and working experience on computerized maintenance management system;
Communicate effectively in English
Familiar with Microsoft office is essential.
